Spooky Gingerbread Ornament Christmas is a special festival to me as a Christian, but it also has its secular traditions. I very much enjoy joining in the Father Christmas narrative, rocking around the Christmas tree and giving gifts to my nearest and dearest. While there are many aspects even of these traditions that can help me reflect upon the religious significance of this holiday, I am also able to share these festivities with my non-Christian friends. And of course, there are many other religious festivals around this time of year. One of my fondest memories is ending Christmas Eve down the pub. Everyone started going round to one another, asking what their faith was so that we could wish one another the appropriate season's greeting. It was a special time of learning about one another and respecting our diversity. One of the things I love about making bespoke ornaments is that I can adjust the designs to fit the individual. Some people enjoy a theme or motif that resonates with them, others don't celebrate Christmas but still enjoy a pretty ornament made relevant to their own faith and festivities. One of my favourite alternative designs is this Spooky Gingerbread Ornament that I made for a friend who likes witchy and spooky things. It also works for those who like gothic themes or love Halloween; and I know quite a few people like that. This gingerbread woman is dressed in black and the cobwebs glow in the dark!
